Rules
Annwn’s rules are here to protect our values as a community. They must be respected and observed when playing on our server or interacting within our community. Like the real world, these rules are enforced by trial and interpreted by the meaning of the rule (not necessarily by exact wording) by court of three judges, depending on the severity of one or more offenses.
Rule 1: No griefing, stealing, or raiding.
Do not cause grief to another player.
Examples
- Removing or modifying one or more blocks, entities, or items belonging to another player or inside the domain of another player.
- Adding one or more blocks, entities, or items inside the domain of another player.
- Directly or indirectly modifying the health, status, or position of another player.
Exceptions
- During events in which this rule is publicly declared null within the scope provided by the announcement.
- In areas in which this rule is announced null.
- Against players to a degree that is reasonably inferred that grief would not be caused; i.e. pranks
Rule 2: Be respectful.
Do not bully or make meanspirited, discriminatory, or prejudiced comments about or to another player. You must be 13 years old or older.
Examples
- Calling someone a derogatory, racist, sexist, etc. name.
- Discriminating against players based on age, race, religion, sex, political stance, etc.; i.e. denying services based on these classes.
Exceptions
- Making a girls-only (or boys-only) clan on the server is acceptable.
Rule 3: Protect the look of the environment.
Do not make trashy-looking builds, block or modify public roads or rivers, or destroy rare monuments.
Examples
- Building nerd poles or other basic towers.
- Cutting only the trunk of a tree, leaving a floating canopy.
- Destroying or modifying public bodies of water.
- Destroying or modifying the designated primary stronghold.
Exceptions
- Building bridges over public bodies of water is permitted if most of the water surface is at least three blocks above the water and allows reasonable boat traffic.
- Rare monuments and the primary stronghold are permitted to be modified if permitted by consensus of the community; i.e. making the stronghold look better permitted by the community.
- Nonprimary strongholds and common structures (dungeons, villages, etc.) are generally exempt from this rule.
Rule 4: No inviting dishonest or irresponsible players.
Do not invite or promote players that you’re not sure will uphold our values and break these rules. Each player you invite that offends will be considered against your credibility.
Examples
- Inviting a player who ends up breaking any of these rules.
Exceptions
- Inviting a player who breaks any of these rules after a reasonable time elapsed from the invite; i.e. a player you invited two years ago that breaks a rule now will not reflect on your record and credibility.
Rule 5: No asking for an abuse of power.
Do not ask any player with operator permissions to abuse their power.
Examples
- Asking an operator to fabricate an item.
- Asking an operator to teleport you.
- Asking an operator to change your gamemode or status [effect].
Exceptions
- None.
Rule 6: No cheating.
Do not abuse glitches, hacks, or mods that gives you a considerable advantage over another player.
Examples
- Using exploits to fabricate items.
- Using x-ray mods.
- Using hacked clients.
Exceptions
- Non-functional or cosmetic client-side mods.
- Minimap or waypoint mods.
- Using a realistic resource pack that makes ores almost indistinguishable from stone, thus giving you a considerable disadvantage to another player.
Rule 7: No lag generators.
Do not build any structures, machines, farms, etc. that would cause considerable framerate or TPS lag to the server and its players.
Examples
- Animal farms denser than is reasonable.
- Redstone clocks taxing on server TPS.
Exceptions
- None.
Rule 8: No unreasonable land claims.
Do not claim entire biomes or land masses that you have not sufficiently demonstrated intent to use or that blocks another player from reasonable expansion.
Examples
- Claiming or squatting an entire biome.
- Locking in the territory of another player by building or claiming area around them.
Exceptions
- Claiming a small or medium-sized island.
- Claiming an entire biome or land mass and demonstrating that you have a reasonable use for it and will probably use all of it.
Rule 9: No advertising.
Do not advertise another server or community or promote an emigration from Annwn.
Examples
- Bad-mouthing Annwn in earshot of other players.
- Spreading misleading information or rumors with players.
Exceptions
- Cordially denouncing the biggest corporate entity on the server for their unethical practices is permissible and sometimes encouraged.
Rule 10: Permission to be recorded.
You may be photographed, recorded, or streamed at any point on our server or in our discord voice channels. You cannot opt-out of this.
Examples
- Having your build photographed by another player.
- Being seen in a stream during a group event.
Exceptions
- Unless restricted by law. Note: server/discord channels are considered public unless stated otherwise.
